About Aitoword

Aitoword is an independent web tool for turning AI answers and Markdown into editable Word documents, with conversion handled in your browser.

Why I built Aitoword

I often received useful answers from AI tools but could not conveniently turn them into Word documents I could keep editing. I wanted to revise the wording, add my own material and continue working on the document. Aitoword grew out of that need: help existing answers become a practical starting point for further editing.

Who maintains it

Aitoword is built and maintained by an independent developer. The website, conversion workflow, examples and guides are maintained as one project. The aim is to make the path from source text to Word clear, including how the input is handled and what to check after downloading.

What you can use it for

Paste an AI answer as Markdown or import a local .md / .txt file, check the preview, then download .docx. Headings, lists, basic tables and supported equations become editable Word structures, while code blocks retain their code content. Three formatting presets provide starting choices for fonts, spacing and margins before you continue editing in Word.

How your content is handled

Source text, document titles and descriptions, and generated files are processed in your browser. Conversion does not send them to an AI model or conversion server. Source text stays in the current page memory, with no saved drafts or cloud conversion history; refreshing or closing the page does not restore it. Loading the site still requests scripts, styles and fonts, and the hosting service handles basic access data. The privacy notice explains that boundary.

Limits to know before converting

The focus is basic document structures and equations the current engine can represent. Image links retain text descriptions rather than downloading images. Unsupported or invalid equations keep their source text with a notice. The browser preview illustrates content and formatting; device fonts, Word wrapping and pagination can differ, so check the downloaded file before using an important document.

Check a real result first

The guides include copyable source text and Word examples generated by the conversion engine. Try a small example to check editable headings, table cells and equations before using your own content. Those examples demonstrate specific inputs and outputs, rather than promising lossless conversion for every document.

Open-source foundations

The conversion workflow uses open-source components including markdown-docx, docx, marked and KaTeX. The markdown-docx project credits its original author, Vace, under the MIT License; the copyright and license notice are available below. Aitoword builds its website, conversion workflow and guides on these existing components.

Free use and feedback

The current conversion tool is free and requires no account. You can contact the maintainer at the email below about a conversion problem. A minimal example with private details removed, your browser version, the selected preset and what happened are useful. You do not need to send a full conversation, account details or an original file containing sensitive content.
